At LAW, our goal is to empower victims and survivors to identify and articulate their rights and their justice needs, reduce impunity and increase accountability, support victims and survivors to advocate for victim-centered truth-seeking and justice, and assist them in selecting the appropriate mechanisms for justice and support. Our approach is creative, inclusive, and responsive toward the communities we work with who often make up the most vulnerable in fragile and conflict affected contexts.

Purpose

LAW’s Rohingya Crisis Programme, located in Cox’s Bazar, Bangladesh, seeks to ensure meaningful Rohingya participation in the ongoing international and national justice processes pertaining to their treatment in Myanmar, including: the case before the International Court of Justice (ICJ) on the application of the Convention on the Prevention and Punishment of Genocide (The Gambia v. Myanmar), the ongoing investigation by the Office of the Prosecutor of the International Criminal Court (ICC), and the universal jurisdiction case before the federal criminal court in Buenos Aires, Argentina.

As part of its strategy for promoting Rohingya participation and building capacity to defend their legal rights, LAW has developed a number of learning materials to provide timely information on international justice mechanisms and the ongoing legal processes related to Myanmar. LAW seeks a consultant who will oversee the dissemination of learning materials within the Rohingya refugee community and provide a follow-up feedback survey to assess impact and knowledge development in relation to international justice processes related to Rohingya.
