The Evolving Crisis in Paletwa Township under Arakan Army Control

This side event, organized by Chin Human Rights Organisation (CHRO), with support from Legal Action Worldwide (LAW), will serve as a platform to present CHRO’s latest findings on the evolving human rights situation in Paletwa (Myanmar) under the Arakan Army’s control and to highlight the ongoing challenges faced by civilians in the township.

The event will advocate for stronger support from the international community in the context of ongoing violence in Myanmar, including immediate needs for humanitarian aid and the importance of holding perpetrators accountable. Finally, the event will facilitate dialogue on prioritizing discourse on transformative justice opportunities, including the establishment of a much-needed trust fund.
