Four Years On, Beirut Blast Victims and Relatives Still Call for Real Investigation

Beirut, Lebanon, 4 August 2024

Sunday, 4th of August, will mark the fourth anniversary of the tragic Beirut blast. On August 4, 2020, Beirut experienced one of the largest non-nuclear explosions in history, resulting in the loss of 218 lives and injuring over 7,000 individuals. Despite the scale of the tragedy, justice remains elusive due to a corrupt and ineffective investigation.

The blast did not only impact the Lebanese population. Victims were nationals from all over the world. This video features testimonies from parents, wives, sisters who lost their relatives in the devastating explosion. They underscore their relentless pursuit of truth and accountability and ask, once again, for the establishment of an independent fact-finding mission and for a real investigation.
